Janis Eileen Zambrello, of Harvard, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday May 14th. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, teacher, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched all who knew her.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on March 30, 1947, Janis was the beloved daughter of Lucille Lillian Corre and James Edward Welsh. She dedicated much of her life to education, earning a master’s degree in Education and working as a teacher, where she inspired countless students over the years.
Janis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis Zambrello, and her cherished daughter, Carolyn Zambrello.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Geneva and Kathryn Bouladian; her sons-in-law, Joseph Geneva and Raffi Bouladian; and her beloved grandchildren, Braylon, Trey and Ella, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Janis found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She treasured summers spent on Martha’s Vineyard, loved singing in her church choir, and enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the Palace Theater. She had a deep appreciation for travel, especially visiting America’s National Parks. Above all, Janis cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness.
Her gentle heart, unwavering love for family, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Janis for a period of visiation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St., Groton, MA 01450. 978-486-3709.
