Jean L. (Hosmer) Morton-Lamy, 88, a resident of Shirley for over forty years, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the Fitchburg Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Lamy with whom she shared thirty-seven years of marriage.
Born on October 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Edward W. and Ruby (Williams) Hosmer. She graduated from Westford Academy and returned to school when she was forty years old to become a hairdresser. She worked for many years at Anthony's Hair Salon and her husband were lifetime members of the Franco-American Club in Westford.
In her spare time Jean loved painting the completed craft projects her husband made and enjoyed reading, above all she relished the time spent with her grandchildren, especially teaching them to dance. She was extremely proud of her children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Timothy Morton and his wife, Debbie, Roselyn Morton and Daniel Morton and his wife, Beth all of Townsend, Jon Morton of Lunenberg, Steven Morton and his wife, Sally of Groton; two sisters, Virginia Burnham and Evelyn Greenwood both of Westford; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Joseph Morton; a sister, Dorothy Dancosse and her brother-in-law, David Burnham.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 11th in the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton from 10am – 12 Noon. Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
