Jean D. Palmer

June 20, 1934 — November 29, 2015

Jean (Duprey) Palmer, 81, of Pepperell, MA passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 29, 2015 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Archambault) Duprey.

She was born in Nashua, NH. In her early years, she played the trumpet in the Hollis band, became a hairdresser and eventually was employed for more than 25 years as a rural letter carrier for the Pepperell Post Office. She loved to read, watch television, was an avid card player and loved her cats.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Palmer and boyfriend Paul West Jr. of Nashua, NH, her son-in-law James Straitiff of Pepperell, her granddaughters Rachel Straitiff and Jessi Straitiff, her sister Rachael Sanders of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Lester Duprey and her sister Lorraine Higgins.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell. Burial will be private.
