Jeffrey Joseph Wencus age 33 of Wrentham and Bolton passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
Born in Boston on November 13, 1983 he is the beloved son of Joseph J. and Lynn M. (Giunchetto) Wencus of Wrentham.
Raised and educated in Wrentham and Franklin, Jeff graduated from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in 2002. Later he attended New England Tractor Trailer Training School and drove for Federal Express Freight for several years.
Jeff had a passion for the outdoors and its surroundings, he enjoyed camping, hunting, especially bow hunting, fishing and skiing, spending as much time outdoors as possible. Every season was recognized by Jeff and truly appreciated.
Most recently he resided at John Sawyer's Mill in Bolton. Jeff cherished the staff and other housemates where he developed deep and personal friendships. Living on the farm brought him both peace and solitude.
Along with his parents Jeffrey is survived by his loving sisters Mandy Wencus of Providence, RI and Lauren Wencus of Somerville and his cherished grandmother Martha (Holcomb) Padden of North Port, FL. He is also survived by his dear friends and extended family at John Sawyer's Mill as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Joseph J. and Adeline B. (Meroski) Wencus and his maternal grandfather James J. Giunchetto.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jeff with an outdoor service on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 am at John Sawyer's Mill/Cultivate Counseling Center, 401 Main St., Bolton. (winter weather attire recommended, please dress accordingly) A reception will follow inside. Only the clean and sober are welcome.
The Jeff Wencus Memorial Garden Fund has been established to create a garden area on the grounds of Cultivate Counseling Center for clients to meditate, reflect, and heal; allowing reconnection to the natural world and empowering their journey of emotional healing. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Jeff Wencus Memorial Garden Fund, c/o Wrentham Cooperative Bank, 102 South St. Wrentham, MA 02093.
