Joan Ballard Esposito, 94, of Groton, MA., (formerly of Kingston, N.Y.) passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  

Joan was born on November 17, 1929, in Hurley, N.Y., to the late Arthur and Anna Long Ballard. She married Joseph C. Esposito (of Kingston) on October 24, 1954, and raised two daughters Regina Esposito Gabrielle and Linda Esposito Fronsdahl. She resided in their home on West Chestnut Street in Kingston until 2013 and then moved to Groton, MA to be near her daughter and family. She is predeceased by her husband Joe (July 2009) and her daughter Gina (October 2022).

Joan graduated from Kingston High School in 1946.  Upon graduation, she worked at the Telephone Company, was a member of the Trailsweepers Ski Club and modeled for Weisburg’s Specialty Shops.  After raising her daughters, she spent many happy and fulfilling years working at Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge supporting the Department of Engineering and then the Office of the College President.  Joan had a passion for reading, knitting, quilting, and visiting her grandchildren (both 2 and 4 legged) as often as possible.

Joan is survived by her daughter Linda and her husband Dwight Fronsdahl of Groton, MA; four grandchildren: Jessica Griser of Colorado Springs, CO, Meaghan Griser of Kingsland, TX, Scott Fronsdahl of Campbell, CA and Nicole Fronsdahl of West Hartford, CT; two great grandsons: Dakota and Jasper Griser of Colorado Springs, CO; her cousin Lillian Meccariello of Los Altos Hills, CA; and dozens of cherished nephews and nieces.

Family and friends may visit on Monday January 8, 2024, from 10am to 12pm at Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave Kingston, NY 12401. The funeral service will take place at 12pm, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
