John Wilsey Podlenski

John Wilsey Podlenski passed away on December 12, 2024, from complications of Alzheimer’s. 

Born in 1958, John was raised and educated in Littleton, Massachusetts and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering. 

After traveling the world in his earlier years, he spent the majority of his career in California working as a Combustion Engineer, climbing smoke stacks testing emissions. John strived to leave a small footprint on the environment. 

A self proclaimed geek, John was a lover of science and technology as well as music and the arts. While he grew up on the east coast, he would find a new home in southern California. He settled in Pasadena, soaking up everything it had to offer and was an active member of his church. Always adventurous, you could find him hiking, biking, camping, stargazing or playing guitar.

Several years ago, he returned to his childhood home in Littleton to be close to family as his Alzheimer’s symptoms began to worsen. He was able to spend almost all of his days at home with family but due to a recent car accident, was admitted to a nursing facility where he would soon die peacefully. To anyone who crossed paths with John and showed him compassion and understanding, his family is grateful. 

He was a beloved son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle who will be remembered as a kind soul and a brilliant mind lost too soon. Always remember those and for those who cannot.
