John E. Shaughnessy

John E. Shaughnessy, 72 of Westford, died suddenly on the afternoon of December 15, 2013. He was born in Lowell, MA on July 28, 1941 son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Cross) Shaughnessy. He grew up in Lowell and attended the Lowell School System. He was married June 12, 1966 to Diane (Souza) Shaughnessy. He had made his home in Westford for the past 43 years.
John worked as a carpenter and retired from Carpenter's Union, Woburn Local #41 after 30 years. He then worked as a driver for Enterprise in Woburn until his retirement in the fall of 2012. He was a member of Littleton Sportsman Club and loved motorcycles.
Mr. Shaughnessy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane (Souza) Shaughnessy, of Westford. His two daughters, Leanne and her husband James Tall and their two children Andrew and Olivia of Nashua, NH; Joanne and her husband Kevin McCole and their three children Sam, John and Katie of Brookline, NH. A brother, Dennis Pelletier of Lowell and sister, Carol Gustafson, of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine's Church, North Street, Westford, on Friday Dec 20, 2013 at 10 am. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton.
