ASHBY, MA - Joseph J. Bosley, age 87, a former resident of Pepperell died May 14, 2012 at the Highland's in Fitchburg after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Beverley (Scharch) Bosley.
He was born in West Groton on November 4, 1924, the son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine (Fallon) Bosley. He was educated in the Groton School System and Groton High School. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific area in the 41st Coastal Artillary as a Radar Surveillance and Fire Control Operator. He was qualified as an expert rifleman. Mr. Bosley lived in Pepperell for 16 years and later moved to Ashby in 1971. He worked for the former Groton Leatherboard Co. for 32 years, 26 of those years as a machine tender and 6 years in the lab as a Paper Tester. His last employment was at Neilson Molding for 8 years as head of maintenance. His hobbies included working on Model A Cars, his vegetable garden and the family pet, his St. Bernard Dog "Minnie".
Besides his wife of 63 years, he leaves a son, Joseph J. Bosley and his wife Lois of Leominster, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, John J. Bosley, a sister, Jeannette Morton and two brothers Carl J. Bosley and Francis Bosley.
He is at rest, farewell, till we meet again.
Visiting hours at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services on Friday, May 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial at Pepperell Cemetery Association in Pepperell.
