Joseph A. Owen, Jr. master electrician and life-long resident of Littleton, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday April 6, 2020 at the age of 59. Joe was the loving husband of Kathy (Lambert) Owen for nearly 20 years.

Born in Cambridge, Joe was the son of Joseph A. Owen, Sr. of Littleton and the late Mary "Madelyn" (Portanova) Owen. Joe was raised in Littleton and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School with the class of 1978.

At the young age of 18, Joe started his business, Joseph A. Owen, Jr. - Master Electrician, known to most as Owen Electric, and for many decades successfully served local residents and businesses. In 1984 Joe married Madeleine (Gosselin) Owen and together they had two handsome boys, Joseph and Michael. Though their relationship turned out to be less permanent, Joe went on to marry his loving wife Kathy on September 25, 1999. Joe and Kathy remained in Littleton where they raised the two boys together with Madeleine.

Joe was a devoted husband and father who cherished his time with family and friends. He was an avid motorcyclist, partaking in numerous fundraising rides and events. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, spending winters in Arizona, trips to Key West and Orlando with Kathy, and Myrtle Beach Bike Week with his riding buddies.

Joe is survived by his wife Kathy, father Joseph Sr., son Joseph A. Owen III and his wife Vanessa of Leominster, son Michael Owen and his fiancée Alexa of Ayer, his brothers, Russell Owen of North Carolina, Dana Owen of Shirley, Lawson Owen of North Carolina, Mitchell Owen of Pepperell, and many cherished family members and friends. He also leaves behind his loyal chihuahuas Chico and Mazy, best childhood friend and riding buddy Peter Callaluca, and close friend and riding buddy Donald Bordeleau. The loss of Joe and his humor, generosity, and kind nature is deeply felt by his loving family, the Littleton community and beyond.

Friends and family will gather to honor and remember Joe for a graveside service on Saturday September 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Road, Littleton, MA 01460.

As most of you know, Joe was the recipient of a double lung transplant in 2008, which gave him an additional 12 wonderful years of life with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the Owen family would appreciate donations to be made in Joe's memory towards continued research at the University of Pittsburgh's Lung Transplant Research Department.
