Mrs. Josephine Lucille Finneran, 93, passed away in her sleep on July 1st, 2017 at EdenHill Assisted Living in New Braunfels, TX. Lucille or "Dolly" as she was known to her friends and family was born Jan. 11, 1924 in Boston, MA to Joseph and Lucy (nee Pucciarello) Rizzo.
Lucille graduated from St. John's High School Cambridge MA in 1942 and worked as a telephone operator during WWII. After the war she married Joseph M. Finneran. The couple lived in Cambridge and then Littleton MA where they started their family. In 1958 they moved to Ohio and resided in Avon Lake. Her focus was on raising her family and instilling in them a love of God, education and value of hard work. All her children attended Catholic schools and graduated from university.
Later she found her second career in retail sales of women's clothing. She was very fashion conscious, she loved helping people and shopping for bargains. She was an active traveler visiting Europe several times and her grown children in California, Georgia, Texas, and Massachusetts. She loved her family, meeting new people, and listening to live music. Lucille is survived by her sister, Marie Rausa of Littleton MA, sons Joseph (Jane) Finneran Jr. of New Braunfels, TX and Gary Finneran of Uxbridge MA, 6 grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Lucille is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph M. Finneran, sister Rita Montanari of Littleton, brother Joseph Rizzo of Somerville, daughters Marita D. Papp and Kathleen P. Noll, of Palm Harbor FL and Avon, OH. A memorial service and mass will be held for Lucille Aug. 12 at 9:00 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Littleton MA.
