PEPPERELL - Joyce T. (Pillsbury) Chapman, age 78, passed away, Thursday, February 20, 2014 peacefully at her home after a courageous battle. She was born in Pepperell on February 14, 1936 a daughter of the late Irving W. and Marion (Kiely) Pillsbury.

Joyce was a lifelong resident of Pepperell, mother of ten and friend to everyone she met. She worked at Ray's Package Store, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, The Nest Restaurant and Hale Nursing Home. She was very involved in the community including politics, church and youth sports. Joyce had a passion for cooking and sharing with family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Matthew Chapman, Oscar Chapman, Elaine Reaves, John Chapman, Irving Chapman, Stephen Chapman and Bernadette "Pixie" (Chapman) Laliberte; Guardian to Charles "Chickie" Harris; 10 siblings, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a dear friend Norma Vail Jeffcoat, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three children: Mark, Marion and Luke Chapman as well as two siblings, Thomas and David "Ticky" Pillsbury.

Relatives and friends may call at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell.
