Judy leaves her husband of 57 years, Richard of Groton, Massachusetts, her son John, of Concord, Massachusetts, and daughter Jennifer, of Kenai, Alaska. All will very much miss her love - and her unique personality.
Born in Melrose, Massachusetts, Judy graduated from Melrose High School, and then from Westbrook College in Maine. Her first husband, Donald Robinson, died after a very brief marriage. Judy then went to work in the personnel department of Arthur D. Little, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts. That's where she met Richard, who worked there as a member of the consulting staff. Their first date was on a big old wooden sailboat which Richard then owned; she loved it. They went on sailing throughout their lives together, frequently spending weeks cruising the coast to the east, including the St. John River in New Brunswick. Both Jennifer and John found themselves frequently shanghaied. Judy brought equal enthusiasm to skiing.
When Richard retired, she joined him in his new hobby of restoring and touring in antique steam cars. She loved to travel - more than did her husband - and didn't hesitate to go off on her own, giving at least one stay-at-home friend a first taste of Europe. Gardening and cooking were lifelong interests, the former being a significant factor in their purchase of their Groton home in 2004, where grapes and blueberries flourished in a well-tended area. Care and skill were applied in bringing her produce to the table. Jen and John both carry on that skill. She will be missed.
Judy's Memorial service will be Friday, August 4th in:
