Katherine P. (Altobelli) Nicastro
October 5, 1926 — February 13, 2019
Katherine (Altobelli) Nicastro,age 92, of Littleton, formerly of Carlisle, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Katherine was born and raised in Braintree and educated in the Braintree schools.
Katherine was the beloved wife of the late Antonio G. Nicastro and daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Altobelli; and sister of the late Annette(Altobelli) Chivaroli and late Marie (Altobelli) McGeoghegan. She was a homemaker and devoted mother to her six children: Joseph and his wife Robin Nicastro of Gold Hill, Oregon; Karen and John Manoukian, formerly of Carlisle, now of Woburn, MA; Mary Ann and Larry Tsai of Angwin, California; Thomas and Linda Nicastro of Westford, Massachusetts; Anthony and Cathy Nicastro of Lunenburg, MA; and Paul and Dawn Nicastro of Thornton, Co. She was a loving grandmother to her ten grandchildren: Simone Nicastro, Carolyn, Deran and Tyler Manoukian Paige and Corinne Tsai, Christopher, Andrew and Katie Nicastro and Gianna Nicastro.
Katherine will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother with a joy for cooking. She had a kind and generous spirit and
made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She had a love for all Boston sports and particularly enjoyed watching the Red Sox. She loved to travel
with her husband, Tony. She had a love of American history and enjoyed taking family vacations to historic sites. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Family and friends can gather to honor and remember Katherine for a period of memorial visitation from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. A private family service will follow at the funeral home. Interment will be held this spring at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA.
