Kathlene M. (Feeney) McQuaid

Katie McQuaid, 43 left this world unexpectedly on Thursday September 23, 2021 at Backus Hospital in Norwich CT surrounded by her loving family.

Katie is the daughter of Darlene Shnaper and the late Richard Feeney Jr. and stepmom Mary Feeney

Katie leaves behind her husband Patrick McQuaid, her Mother Darlene Shnaper, stepdad Gary Shnaper, sisters Erin Feeney and Danielle Shnaper, brother-in-law Mark Ragusa and stepmom Mary Feeney, many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Bentley, Shnaper and Feeney families. As well as her beloved cats Buddy and Nigel

Katie grew up in Littleton and is a graduate of Littleton High School. She was employed by Core Compliance Testing Services for 8 months. Prior to CCTS she worked at Curtis Straus/ Bureau Veritas CPS for 20 years.

Katie was a free-spirited fun-loving person. She could often be seen cruising through Littleton in her Jeep with the top down and the wind blowing through her hair.

She loved the beach and spent many summer vacations at the beach in Maine or in the Carolinas with family and friends.

Katie loved Thanksgiving. Her grandmother Barbara taught Katie how to prepare a turkey day feast. Katie kept up the tradition and became the turkey day chef extraordinaire after Barbara passed away.

Her love of animals prompted Katie to continually bring rescues and abandoned pet's home. Her cats were her extended family.

A memorial scholarship fund will be established in Katie's name for students planning to study veterinary care.

A celebration of Katie's life will be held at a time and date to be announced.
