Kenneth Merrill Ripley, 88 and a longtime Littleton resident passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Monday February 24, 2020. He was the husband of Nancy (Johnson) Ripley.
Ken was born in Boston on November 13, 1931 the only son of William and Dorothy (Brookings) Ripley. He was raised in Boston and graduated from Roslindale High School in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country during Viet Nam. In May of 1962 he married Nancy, and began a love story that would span over 58 years. Ken was a man of many talents; a renaissance man so to speak. He was a gifted "motorhead" who could take apart any power tool and put it back together again… just for fun. He enjoyed learning about different aircraft types, then constructing a model of them. And while he loved a good Bruins or Patriots game and was happy to relax and enjoy his pipe, family was most important to Ken. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his children; Scott Ripley and his wife Leslie of Littleton, Kenneth Ripley and his wife Darcie of Westminster and Pamela Ripley of Littleton. He was the loving grandfather to Lexi, Lauren, Nicole and the late Adam Ripley.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ken for a period of visitation from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday March 1, 2020 in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday March 2, 2020 at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, New Estate Road, Littleton.
