Kumar Chinnaswamy died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the age of 53 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a three month battle with myocarditis and subsequent complications. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, their two children, Sara and Jay, his parents A. V. and Sarojini Chinnaswamy and his brother, Mano Chinnaswamy. Kumar graduated from Abbington Heights High School in Clark Summit, Pennsylvania, received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Kumar worked in the computer industry for many companies including Digital Equipment Company, StarTek and 3Com before becoming one of the founders of Broadband Access Systems which was later acquired by ADC. He had recently retired to Florida where he pursued his hobbies of fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed hiking, skiing, tennis, travel and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton, MA on Tuesday April 26, 2016 from 5-8 pm. A Memorial will be held at the Funeral Home on Wed, April 27, 2016 at 10 am.
