Laurie J. Rodrigues

Laurie J. (Lane) Rodrigues a longtime resident of New Bedford, formerly of Taunton and Freetown passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Boston under the care of Brigham & Women's Hospital following a courageous 10-year battle with Breast Cancer. Ms. Rodrigues was 44 years old. Laurie was the adoring mother of Dominic Rodrigues, Jaedon Rodrigues and Lilee Rodrigues, all of Taunton. She was the proud grandmother of Davion Rodrigues of New Bedford. Ms. Rodrigues was the loving daughter of Dorothy "Dottie" and Roy Fierra of Taunton, Steven Hedges of Lakeville and Janis Ingargiola Hedges of Bridgewater. Laurie also leaves behind her half-siblings; Steven Hedges, Jr. of Lakeville, Becky Hedges of Raynham and Tracey Bagge of Taunton. Last and most certainly not least, Laurie leaves behind her pride and joy, her dog Leya.

Laurie was born on May 16, 1974 in Middleboro and grew up in Freetown. She was a talented Licensed Massage Therapist and was employed by Massage Envy in Dedham. Through her skill of therapeutic massage and its many disciplines, Laurie helped many people heal throughout her career, making an impact on many lives. Ms. Rodrigues was also a deeply spiritual woman who had a faith in God.

She was extremely artistic, as she enjoyed drawing, painting and making jewelry. Given all of her gifts, Laurie's greatest talent was as a mother. Her children were everything to her and her spirit will shine on through them. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her and her great, kind heart will never be forgotten.
