Linda A. Betti, 78, of Lunenburg, MA, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side. She is the loving wife of Cheryl Lauziere.
Linda was born in Boston, MA, on March 4th, 1944 to the late James and Rebecca (Maloof) Lomuscio. She attended Holliston High School. Linda took much pride in being a Lab Manager at Perkin Elmer from where she retired in 2020.
Linda LOVED spending time with family and friends, which always included cooking lots of her family favorites of which she was happy to share the recipe. A hostess like no other and a joy to be with every time there was a gathering. Gardening was a passion and she knew more about flowers than most, and how to make a lawn lush and green. She could have been a great greenskeeper on any golf course! Golf was also something we liked to do for many years. Most of the time was in a tournament for one charity or another, and included lots of friends and a tremendous amount of laughter. She loved playing cards, cribbage and "dabbled" in the lottery a LOT, and enjoyed going to casinos for roulette and slots.
Linda was always up for an adventure and would often say, "let's just get in the car and go for a drive". We would usually end up in some pretty unique places and would always have stories to share after the fact. One of her favorite places, other than a casino, was the BEACH, we had to go at least once a year if not more, so Linda could get her toes in the sand and feet in the water. We attended multiple Patriots games and were able to attend her bucket list item of attending Opening Day for the Red Sox. We also attended dozens of concerts over the years, anything from our most recent, Garth Brooks at Gillette to Tina Turner, The Judds, Gladys Knight, Liza Minelli, The Eagles, Aretha Franklin, Cher, Celine, Harry Connick Jr... and many, many others. There was always music playing in the house and in the car!
She was a member of the Lunenburg Family Lions Club and volunteered as a Meals on Wheels driver for the Senior Center in town after her retirement. She also volunteered on occasion with the Salvation Army in Fitchburg doing Boot Drives and last year working the Boston Marathon and providing support with the team at a fire! It is so difficult to put into words who Linda was to everyone, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, "Mimi" and friend. She was a kind, caring, fun loving, sweet with a bit of sass, hilarious, classy, wise, feisty & loyal woman who many cherished.
Linda is predeceased by several aunts, uncles and cousins & her mother-in-law, Joan Lauziere. Linda is survived by her loving wife, Cheryl Lauziere, her brother Jim Lomuscio & his wife Kathye of Holliston, sister Donna Lomuscio of Mendon, MA, 2 sons, Jim Houle & his partner Jackie of Warwick, RI, Michael Houle & his wife Ulrika of Northbridge, MA, niece, Leah Lomuscio of Mendon, MA, nephews, Kevin Lomuscio of Holliston & Kai Lomuscio & his wife Gillian of Providence, RI. Grandsons, Michael Houle & his partner Joy, Erik Houle, granddaughters, Stephanie Melwhiney & her husband Beau, Elisabeth Houle, & Madeline Houle. She also had several in-laws, father-in-law Norman Lauziere, brother/sister-in-laws, David Lauziere & Jodianne, Kevin & Patty Lauziere, Jimmy & Tanya Lauziere, Paul Lauziere & Cathy & Jim Hamilton, along with several other nieces and nephews and "dozens of cousins" and even more neighbors and friends that meant the world to her!
