Lois Miriam Knights Bemis
6/15/25 - 11/2/2014 Daughter of the late Homer G. and Miriam Hammond Parmenter Knights. Married to John L. Bemis (deceased) for 65 yrs. She was the last surviving daughter of her siblings; Russell G. Knights, Barbara M Reid, and Phillip H Knights. She was survived by their children John R. and Janice A. Lemire Bemis, Timothy G. and Michaline Bemis, Miriam L Bemis and Dave Labosssiere, Dave and Jane L. Bemis Case. There are 10 wonderful grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Lois was a member of the Ida McKinley chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a member of St. Andrews Church of Ayer, MA . Lois had been a telephone operator in her early years of marriage. Later, she worked for the Harvard school system in the Cafeteria from 1967 through 1977. Then the Bookberry Store in Ayer, MA from 1977 to 1985. John and Lois volunteered their time to the Loaves and Fishes program, she loved her family with all her heart. She enjoyed traveling in the family camper to the West Coast and Rocky Mountains. She loved reading to her grandchildren and she enjoyed being a part of all their celebrations over the years.
In lieu of flowers Lois asked us to donate your time and energy to something or someone randomly who you might not think to help. Pay it forward, make a difference in someone's life.
Memorial service will be held at Lifecare of Acton 1 Great Rd. Acton, MA November 8, 2014 at 2 PM.
