Louise Adele (Harnois) Curley, age 85, of Westborough formerly of Littleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Westborough. Born in Quincy on December 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Mary F. (Brown) Harnois. She was the wife of the late Edmund M. Curley.
Louise and Edmund married in 1956 and soon settled in Littleton where together they raised their loving family. Louise had a successful career as an administrative assistant but had always wanted to be a nurse. So, at age 40, she went back to school and pursued her lifelong dream, attending Middlesex Community College Nursing Program and graduating with an RN. She then returned to the workforce and worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as an Occupational Health Nurse. After she retired, she continued "bringing comfort and health education to the senior population" as Wellness Coordinator at the Concord Council on Aging and initiated a Blood Pressure clinic at the Littleton Council on Aging. She was dedicated to helping promote health and wellness within the community.
Louise was always supportive of her family, providing a warm and loving home for everyone. Her greatest joy was watching the growth and success of her children and grandchildren. In her earlier years, Louise was a waitress to help pay the bills and pay her way through nursing school. She was very proud that her children and grandchildren "followed in her footsteps" by waitressing at some point in their lives.
Louise is survived by her children Maria L. Curley of Waipahu, HI, Suzanne P. Curley of Northborough, Richard S. Curley of Shirley and Brian G. Curley of Southborough. Sister of the late Leo Harnois, Louise is also survived by her sister in-law Fran Harnois of Arlington, 5 grandchildren, Elisha L. Campbell, Chelsea L. Belliveau, Nicole M. Curley, Haley A. Curley, and Matthew N. Curley, two great-grandchildren, Braidyn E. Campbell and Caelynn F. Campbell, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Siamese cat Rudy.
Family and friends will gather for calling hours on Monday, January 23 from 4-7 pm in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24 at 10:00 am in St. Anne's Parish, 75 King St., Littleton. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
