McGrath, Margaret A. ("Sis"), age 76,� life long Pepperell resident died on January 27, 2009 at the Mount Carmel Nursing Center in Manchester, NH after a long illness.� Sis was born on June 30, 1932 in Nashua, NH to the late Joseph M. and Helen F. (Lynch) McGrath. Upon graduation from Pepperell High School in 1950 she went to work for Bemis Company in Pepperell staying there until her retirement 48 years later.� Prior to suffering a stroke in April of 2003 Sis was a regular fixture around Pepperell and was always involved with youth, the community, local politics and her church.� In April of 1996 the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce recognized Sis with the "Spark Plug" award in light of her work with the youth of Pepperell. Later, the Community Center on Hollis Street, which was built under her direction and with 100% donated money, materials and labor, was dedicated and renamed in her honor. She is survived by her sister and dedicated caregivers, Ann M. McGrath and Ruth Brokmeier of Manchester N.H. and numerous cousins.� Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 pm on Friday January 30, 2009 at the Marchand Funeral Home at 16�� Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA.� A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 31, 2009 at St Joseph's Church, Tarbell Street Pepperell, MA.� Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell, MA.� All are invited to attend.� In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Ann McGrath, to help defray Sis's end of life expenses.� Funeral Director, Normand E.
