October 2, 1929 — July 3, 2021

Maria (Silveri) Sabourin, 91, a longtime Littleton resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2021.

Maria was the wife of the late Francis F. Sabourin who passed away in 2007.

Maria was born in Ofena, Abruzzi, Italy on October 2, 1929; she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia (Cantera) Silveri.

She immigrated to the United States in 1947 and lived in the North End of Boston with her family before moving to Somerville. During her time in the city, Maria enjoyed shopping and seeing shows.

While on vacation in 1955, she met her future husband Francis. They were married in June 1956 and moved to Clinton, where they started their family.

In 1967, Francis and Maria moved their family to Littleton where they would spend the rest of their lives raising their children and grandchildren.

Maria vacationed for many years in York, Maine and enjoyed spending days on the beach with family.

A devoted Catholic, Maria was an active member of St. Anne's Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many decades. Faith was very important to Maria and she spent many mornings at daily mass, praying for loved ones and those in need.

Maria was a loving and devoted mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her love of cooking was truly a gift cherished by all. She was a generous soul who found great joy in cooking, caring and doing for others—family, friends and strangers alike.

Maria is survived by her four children, Robert Sabourin of Groton, Ann Siekman of Harvard, Anita Fitzpatrick and her husband Paul of Fitchburg and Patricia Leger and her husband John of Littleton.

She is survived by her nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Siekman) Conant and her husband Jason; Brian Siekman and his wife Olivia; Meghan (Fitzpatrick) Kinkaid and her husband Will; Shannon (Fitzpatrick) Grossenbacher and her husband Taylor; Katherine (Fitzpatrick) Clunan and her husband Lucas; Matthew Sabourin and his wife Sarah; Michael Sabourin, Vanessa and Isabella Goddard.

She leaves behind her eight great grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. Tyler and Sophia Conant, Caroline and Kyle Siekman, William Kinkaid, Jacob and Alex Grossenbacher and Layla Clunan.
She is also survived by her son-in-law Don Siekman and daughter-in-law Carol Sabourin, both of Ayer. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
