Marie M. Murphy

Murphy of Lunenburg May 5, 2015 Marie M. Murphy died at the Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was born in Somerville, MA on May 1, 1929 daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Tamlyn) Brett and was the wife of the late James H. Murphy Sr.
Mrs. Murphy spent her early life in Cambridge and was a graduate of St. Mary's high school . She had been employed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a telephone operator for 25 years.
She was an avid reader, bingo player and enjoyed crocheting and spending time at Hampton Beach New Hampshire, and Wyman's Beach in Westford. She was also a big fan of all of the major Boston sport teams.
She is survived by her children Francis T. Murphy of Hanover, MA, James H. Murphy Jr. of Webster, MA, Paul J. Murphy of Lunenburg, MA, John M. Murphy of Saugus, MA, Robert E. Murphy of Marlborough, MA, Mary Ann Doherty of Lunenburg, MA, and Annmarie Murphy of Lunenburg, MA, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson James H. Murphy III.
She also leaves her sister Judith Wilson of Northborough, MA. She was predeceased by her sisters Marjorie Tamlyn, Ruth Bailey and Helen Connolly.
