Marie Teresa Waite

Marie (Macaulay) Waite, 86, of Littleton, died at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton on March 21, 2014. She was leap-year baby born in Medford, MA, on Feb 29, 1928 daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Walsh) Macaulay and was the wife of the late Richard A. Waite Sr. She grew up in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. Marie took nursing instruction in Newton and additional training at Emerson Hospital in Concord.
After the War she met her husband and was married in 1948. They initially made their home in Chelmsford, then raised their family in Acton, and lived Littleton for the past 5 years. They also spent many years in Florida.
Marie was proud of her nursing career and Scottish heritage ? researching genealogy across Massachusetts and PEI.
Mrs. Waite is survived by 3 sons, Richard A. Waite Jr. of Littleton, Don Waite of Littleton, and William F. Waite of Acton, and daughter Christine A. Manzello of Fitchburg. 7 Grandchildren, Paul Waite, Robert Waite, Amy Hagnauer, Aaron Imbimbo, Kathryn Noland, Allan Waite and Jonathan Waite; 5 great-grandchildren: Max Hagnauer, Hannah Hagnauer, Sophia Noland, Samantha Waite, and Logan Waite.
Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday, March 25, 4-7 pm, followed by a Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 26 at 10 am both held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. Burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, MA, Please see www.badgerfuneral.com
