Marilyn A. Cedrone

July 25, 1958 — April 22, 2024

Marilyn A. (Russo) Cedrone, 65, of Groton, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday April 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 25, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Betty (Fox) Russo. She leaves her husband of 35 years, Dan, and sons, Dylan and Alex.

Marilyn graduated from Waltham High School in 1976. While in high school, she worked in the cafeteria at Waltham Hospital; after graduation, she continued to serve the hospital as an aide. Her career in healthcare mirrored the way she lived her life: taking care of others with empathy and compassion.

More recently, she was a supervisor at the Naka infusion center at the Bethel Mass General Hospital Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital. She held the center’s operations together with her exceptional multitasking and organizational skills but loved most of all to help make people’s journeys easier at their most vulnerable moments. She was very much loved by the patients and her colleagues.

As a mother, Marilyn was strong, kind, selfless and caring. Her sons were the center of her universe, and she was the center of theirs. She loved them unconditionally and made sure they knew it every day.

Her grace, humor, and sage advice made her a beloved best friend to many. She brought people together and they gravitated towards her. She had a talent for making her home cozy and warm, and always welcomed people to stay. Driven by a perpetually positive outlook, she rarely complained about herself.

As the eldest of her sisters, she took charge of family matters. She was fiercely loyal: Her siblings could depend on her for anything, and she had their backs.

She loved to entertain at home or on vacation, laughing and lounging with family and friends on the beaches of Cape Cod or by the pool.

She made her house a destination for hers and her sons’ friends; her kitchen usually had something delicious baking and her patio was always set for a party.

She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and a roadmap for a life well lived. She is dearly missed.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Marilyn for a period of visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St. Groton, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. James Parish, 13 St. James Ave., Groton, MA. Burial will follow at St. Catherines Cemetery in Westford.
