Marion A. Purslow

November 11, 1948 — March 19, 2025

Littleton, Massachusetts

Marion A. Purslow of Littleton, MA at age 76 was called home to heaven on Wednesday March 19, 2025.

Marion grew up in Littleton Massachusetts, and studied Nursing after graduating high school. She met her husband while in school and they swiftly married where she spent the majority of her years as a homemaker raising their three children in Brockton. After her children had grown, she returned to the medical field as a CNA where she could have a more hands on and personal relationships with her patients. Marion had a passion for creating with her hands, from needlepoint, to cross-stitch, crochet, and in recent years, fell in love with gem art. She was always creating beautiful gifts for those around her. She also loved reading, puzzles and playing games, and looked forward to her weekly card nights with her good friend Julie. She could not pass up on a good game night with family or friends and loved the challenge and company it brought.

In mid January Marion had a heart attack which brought her to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA where she spent the next 44 days. She was diagnosed with multiple life-threatening illnesses on top of her weakened heart and was also diagnosed with Cancer during her stay. But she fought to stay alive and was a beacon of joy to the staff who cared for her. There were days when the nurses even asked to have her on their rounds because she treated them with such respect, understanding and was such a positive glow in their day. She was later moved to East Bridgewater to aide in her first of what was to be many recovery periods when she was mercifully called home to heaven. God graciously saved her from what would be a long and challenging road ahead to one that is no longer filled with pain or suffering. She was loved by many and will be so greatly missed.

Marion is survived by her children, Stacey Scott of Eustis, ME, Barbara and her husband Paul Eaton of West Wareham, Lynda and her husband James Browne of Hanson, Grandchildren, Camden, Duncan, Bryce, Collin, Amanda, Kaley, and Emily, and great grandchildren Emilia, Damien and Abigail, Siblings Barry Caldwell and his wife Janet Caldwell, and Doug Caldwell and his wife Martha Caldwell. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Phyllis Caldwell, brother and sister-in-law Steven and Charlene Caldwell and son-in-law George Scott.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Marion for a graveside service on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Rd. Littleton, MA 01460.

Arrangements are under the care of Badger Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, 347 King St. Littleton, MA 01460.
