Mary H. (Keane) Bulger, 79 of Harvard, passed away peacefully at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester on October 1, 2014. Mary was born in Jamaica Plain on June 12, 1935, the daughter of Patrick and Helen (Harvey) Keane and was the loving wife of 51 years to the late Robert A. Bulger. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Connors. She grew up in Jamaica Plain and graduated from the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing and continued her career as a nurse. Mary and her husband initially made their home in Jamaica Plain, and then moved and raised their family in Norwood. Recently, she moved to Harvard to be closer to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Bulger was a pastoral care volunteer, a volunteer at Norwood/Caritas Hospital and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Timothy's Church in Norwood. She loved to bake for family and friends and was especially known for her lemon meringue pies. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marianne McNamara and her husband William of Harvard, and Patricia Dahlgren and her husband Steven of Bedford; five grandchildren, William McNamara Jr, Brigid McNamara and Sean McNamara all of Harvard and Jillian Arena of Jupiter, FL and Meagan Erickson of Los Angeles, CA; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Still River Road, Harvard, MA on Saturday, October 4th at 1 PM. A Private Burial will be at Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery Bourne, MA.
