Mary E. Chase, 64 years old, passed away on August 19, 2022 at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, ME, surrounded by family.
Mary was born on December 25, 1957 to William and Dorothea (Condon) Chase in Boston, MA. She grew up in Littleton and graduated from Littleton High School in 1975. Mary received an Associate Degree in Photography from the University of Bridgeport and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating from RISD, she worked in the field of graphic design. Mary loved the city of Boston, especially the Boston Public Library where she volunteered as a docent. She also volunteered as a tour guide at the Arnold Arboretum. She participated in several walks to raise money for cancer research.
After her father’s death, Mary spent a lot of her time with her mother, Dotty. They attended concerts, college reunions in Washington DC, and visited with friends. Mary always thought of others before herself.
Mary loved photography, old cars, the Red Sox, the history of Boston and Littleton, and Bernese mountain dogs. She attended every one of her niece Dorrie’s concerts and dance recitals. Mary was also interested in genealogy and she, along with her cousins, spent many happy hours researching the family tree.
Mary was a dear daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend, and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Dorothea (Condon) and William Chase. She is survived by sister Margaret (Chase) Pinchbeck and brother-in-law David Pinchbeck of Windham, ME, niece Dorothea Pinchbeck of Providence, RI, sister Pauline (Chase) Shire and Bob Prior, of Amherst, NH, and many cousins.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Mary for a period of visitation on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton.
