Mary Martha (Bowers) Cochran, 57, of Littleton, died unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018, at her home.
She was born April 20, 1961, in Littleton, to her parents, John and Sally (Healy) Bowers. She grew up as the youngest of five and graduated from Littleton High School in 1979. In 1983, she graduated from Simmons College and then completed the Physician Assistant's program at Northeastern University. Introduced by a mutual friend, Mary met and married Stephen Cochran on 25 June, 1983. Mary worked as a Physician Assistant for a number of years at Concord Hillside Medical. She poured her heart and soul into her work, and her compassion and care touched the lives of hundreds of patients, many who would become life-long friends. Her passion for family, friends and patients was only matched by her passion for travel. New Zealand, Switzerland, Nepal, Mt Kilimanjaro, and Mt Blanc are only a few of the exciting (and challenging) places she traveled to. Mary was also very creative and frequently made beautiful and thoughtful gifts for all sorts of occasions.
Besides her husband Stephen, she is survived by two sons; Nigel Bowers Cochran and his wife Janine of Medford and Callum James Cochran and his partner, Lauren Perry of Barrington, New Hampshire; mother, Sally Ann (Healy) Bowers; sister Elizabeth Ann Shephard; nephew, John Michael Shephard, and brother Andrew Thomas Bowers, all of Littleton; brother Peter Timothy Bowers of Laguna Niguel, California; and sister Nancy Jean Bowers and her husband James Richard Pratt of Shirley. Mary was predeceased by a sister, Jane Carol Bowers and her father, John Westly Bowers, who died in 2017.
Interment will be held privately at Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the POTS Research Fund at either http://www.dysautonomiainternational.org/ or Dysautonomia International Organization, PO Box 596, East Moriches, NY 11940.
