Mary Ann (Shevil) Catalanotto

Mary Anne (Shevil) Catalanotto age 95 and long-time Littleton resident passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Louis George Catalanotto who died in 2019.

Born in Granville, New York on February 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Ann (Navrocky) Shevil.

Raised and educated in New York, Mary graduated from high school and at age 51, attended Middlesex Community College and earned a degree in social work.

Mary and Lou married and soon settled in Littleton, MA in 1965 where together they raised their son Chris.  Mary worked for many years as an office manager for several medical practices, was a long-term member of St. Anne’s Ladies of Sodality and spent the bulk of her later years as a dedicated and active board member of the Littleton Council on Aging where she could be seen volunteering for numerous local activities. She could regularly be seen at Lou’s Side managing their Christmas tree farm and serving hot chocolate to the many customers.

Mary was also an avid gardener, she enjoyed spending time planting flowers and tending to her vegetable garden where she was known for her fresh canned tomatoes and jams.  A faithful member of St. Anne’s Church, Mary was often seen at church contributing her time to countless fairs, fundraisers, and committees. 

Mary will always be remembered for her thoughtful, selfless, and giving approach to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son Chris Catalanotto of Brighton as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth M. Lewis and brothers George E. Shevil, Michael Andras and Alex Andras.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Mary on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 1 PM to 2PM at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
