Myron E. Hartwell, age 88, of Pepperell, Massachusetts went home to his Lord on Monday, June 29, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Myron was the son of the late Ernest and Maude A. (Fuller) Hartwell of Groton, Massachusetts. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Nashua, New Hampshire and made his home in Pepperell the last 50 years. He was employed at the Groton Leatherboard paper mill for 25 years and later retired from the maintenance department of Nashoba Hospital in Ayer, Massachusetts in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia C. (Chevrette) Hartwell of 63 years and five children: Mary Berube of Milford, New Hampshire and her children David, Jack and Rachel; Jane Ford and her husband Rodney of Ayer, Massachusetts and their son Carlton; David Hartwell and his wife Rose of Pepperell and their children Erica and Brett; Diann Cahaly and her husband James of West Newbury, Massachusetts and their children Peter and Andrew; Charles Hartwell and his wife Kristine of Pepperell and their children Jaclyn and Charles J. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Nicolette and Jordan.
Myron was an avid bow hunter and maker of custom archery bows. He also enjoyed making and flying model airplanes. He was an enthusiastic lover of nature and spent much time walking outdoors and tracking deer.
Arrangements are made by the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. There are no visiting hours or service. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Myron can be made to the New Life Community Church, 13 Groton St., Pepperell, MA 01463.
