Nancy Tierney

Nancy (Green) Tierney, 78, of Littleton, MA died on November 25, 2013, after an extended illness. She was born in Gloucester on April 19, 1935. Daughter of the late Robert and Edith (Smothers) Green, Sr. She grew up in Gloucester and Rockport and was a case worker for North Shore Baby Hospital from 1953 to 1957. She married Peter Tierney, Sr. on June 1, 1957 and made their home in Littleton, MA since 1961. Nancy was a long-time member of Littleton Country Gardners where she served as president for 1975 and 1976. She was a member of St. Anne's church in Littleton and a member of St. Anne's Sodality. Nancy enjoyed being the nanny for several local families after her children were grown. Her survivors include her husband Peter W. Tierney Sr. of Littleton, her children Peter W. Tierney Jr. of Littleton and his wife Julie, Susan Tierney Parisi of Rockport and her husband Frank, Sean F. Tierney of Exeter, NH and his wife Janis, and Elizabeth M. Tierney of Phoenix, AZ. Also survived by 8 grandchildren. Elizabeth Clark and Benjamin Bailey of Stratham, NH, Benjamin Parisi of Fitchburg, MA, Jenifer Smith of Pensacola, FL, Kelsey Cyr of Columbus, OH, Sarah Tierney of Exeter, NH, Bethany Parisi of Rockport, MA and James Tierney of Littleton, MA. She was the sister of the late Robert E. Green Jr. of Wasilla, AK. Funeral from the Badger Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 30th at 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Church, 75 King Street, Littleton, MA, at 11am. Visiting Hours will be Friday from 4-8 pm Burial at Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport, MA
