Natalie P. Ohlin

April 13, 1922 — August 13, 2014

Natalie Page Ohlin, 92, of Harvard passed away at her home Wednesday August 13th, 2014. She was born in Somerville MA, the daughter of Roland and Margery Page. Natalie grew up in Belmont. After graduating from high school she resided in Boston and worked as an insurance company underwriter assistant.

At 21 years of age on October 31st, 1943 she married Hans Ohlin just before he left for World War II in the Pacific. As Natalie once noted these were pretty scary times not knowing how the war would end and whether Hans would be coming back. She and her husband began raising a daughter and son in Belmont before residing in Barrington, Rhode Island for several years. In 1963 the family moved to their Littleton Road Harvard property that Hans had purchased back in 1947 as a residence for his parents.

Over her long life Natalie enjoyed horseback riding, tennis, skiing, camping, boating and painting. For many years Natalie worked for Digital Equipment Corporation before retiring.
She and her husband had opportunities to tour Switzerland, Sweden and Norway as well as the Panama Canal. For many years she immensely enjoyed participating in Harvard's Council On Aging activities. She recently noted that she had been so fortunate to have had such a good family as well as wonderful relatives and friends.

Natalie's husband, Hans, recently passed away in April. She is survived by her daughter Karen Ohlin and her husband Ted Jasnos of Clinton; her son Richard Ohlin and his wife Sharon of Harvard; and by her granddaughter Kristin and her husband Jeremy Parker of North Chelmsford. She adored her great-granddaughter Grace Parker, who was born in August of 2012. There will be a private graveside service for family and relatives to be held at a later date at Harvard's Bellevue Cemetery.
