February 12, 1993 — September 7, 2023

Littleton, Massachusetts

Nathan E. Canfield, 30, of Littleton, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Lahey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Nathan was born on February 12, 1993, in Ayer, MA.  Later he attended Littleton High School and received a degree in marine biology from Roger Williams University.

While only an occasional fisherman, Nathan's love of the marine world led to creating a blog called "Fish Friday" (#fishfriday) in addition to working for a company that designed and maintained fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Nathan grew up playing youth hockey and continued to play as part of "Team Green" with a group of players that included several from Littleton. He loved the San Jose Sharks, Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, and pets of all kinds.  Cats were his favorite but he had dogs in his life and even a hedgehog named Snoopy. Recently he was volunteering at an animal rescue organization in Rhode Island.

Nathan is survived by his father and stepmother,  Quinn Canfield and Jennifer Canfield, his mother Jean Szymczak, brothers Ben Canfield and Adam Canfield, and his sister Izabelle Katter. He also leaves behind his grandmother Corine Canfield and a large extended family in New England and New York. He is also survived by his girlfriend Kyla Murray.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 3:00 PM -6:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home 347 King St. Littleton, MA 01460. Burial will be private.
