Neva M Crosby

Neva Margaret Crosby of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on June 5th, 2020. She was born on May 19th, 1926 in Franklin, MA to Ruth and Augustin Hancock. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William Russell Crosby of Newton MA. She is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Neva grew up on the 100 acre family farm in Franklin MA. Years of life on the farm with 7 siblings left an indelible imprint of the importance of family bonds, including the fun and competition of family games, a tradition continuing to this day at the annual family reunion. Neva and Russ were avid golfers and members of Nashawtuc County Club in Sudbury, MA for 17 years. They were also longstanding fans of the New England Patriots, holding season's tickets dating back to the team's earliest days. In Neva's later years she learned to play bridge and enjoyed playing at the Vero Beach Bridge Center. Neva and Russ had a close circle of friends they maintained ties with throughout their lives, as well as making new friends wherever they went. Neva lived at Regency Park her last 10 years and was an active member of that community.
Neva attended nursing school after high school where she learned crucial skills for her family of five children. After raising her family in Wayland, MA Neva began a career in banking at the Middlesex Savings Bank where she was promoted to Branch Manager
Neva and her family were members of the Methodist church in Cochituate, MA where she found great joy singing in the choir. Most recently she was a member and volunteer at Christ by the Sea in Vero Beach, FL where she and Russ lived since 1988.
A celebration of life in her memory will be announced at a later date.
