Norman D. Hallock

September 10, 1945 — August 16, 2017

Norman Hallock, age 71, of Groton, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 16th  with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Rebecca (Longtin) Hallock with whom he shared twenty-four years of marriage.

Born on September 10, 1945 in Duluth, Minnesota he was the son of the late Lester and Alice (Sachs) Hallock. He graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to graduate from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He served in the US Army until 1970 where he was stationed in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

He began his career  in retail working  for Richman Brothers in Chicago where he rose from an Assistant Store Manager to the Vice President of Men's Merchandising. He was employed by The TJX Companies, at his dream job, as the Vice President of Planning and Allocation in the TJ Maxx division for many years, with a total of 23 years at the company.

Norman married the love of his life, Rebecca, in 1993 and they settled in Groton where they raised their two sons, Charles and Nathan.  Norman was fortunate to have a career he thoroughly enjoyed while still being able to maintain a perfect work/life balance.  Charles and Nathan are now in their 20's and Norman was grateful and proud to see them grow into such mature and confident men.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Charles and Nathan Hallock of Groton. He is also survived by his daughter from a previous relationship, Margaux Hardy of Santa Rosa, CA and her son Martin; his sister, Naomi Hallock Kassler and her husband, Barry of Minneapolis, MN;  a brother-in-law, M. Richard Longtin, Jr. and his wife, Jessica Tran of San Jose, CA; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Jeter and her husband, Dan of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived and adored by many loving nieces and nephews. Norm also cherished his extended family and they know who they are.

The family would like to thank their many friends as well as the TJX Companies for the tremendous support shown to the family during this difficult time. *
