Olive J. (Lanier) Giangregorio

Pepperell, Massachusetts

Olive J. (Lanier) Giangregorio, age 93, of Pepperell, formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, December 31, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Giangregorio, who passed in 2013.

Born in Ware, Massachusetts, on February 22, 1930, Olive was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Lydia (King) Lanier. Olive was raised and educated in her hometown of Ware, graduating as class valedictorian from Ware High School.

Olive and Vincent married and lived in East Boston before moving to Framingham where together they raised their eight children. A devoted wife and mother, Olive remained home, where she enjoyed tending to her loving family. She was a wonderful cook and, along with her husband, enjoyed hosting many holiday, birthday, and milestone events. All who knew her cherished her selflessness, kindness, and generosity of warmth and hospitality.

In 1992, Olive and Vincent moved to Pepperell, where they served on the Friends of the Pepperell Seniors board and volunteered at the Pepperell Senior Center. They attended the Grace Baptist Church, where they made many friends and acquaintances.

Olive enjoyed gardening, reading, calligraphy, coin collecting, volunteering, and Bible study.

She is survived by her daughter Jane and her husband James Wilson of Amesbury, MA. Her seven sons, John of Gloucester, MA; Vincent and his partner Melanie Walsh of Oxford, MA; David and Heidi of Framingham, MA; Mark and Cheryl of Manchester, NH; Roy and Pati of Truro, MA; Alan and Lisa of Midlothian, VA, and Paul and his fiancé Stacey Anderson of Bellingham, MA; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Normand Lanier and the mother-in-law of Claire Wyzenbeek.

Services and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pepperell, will be private.

Donations in her memory may be made to Friends of the Pepperell Seniors, Albert Harris Senior Center, 37 Nashua Road, MA, or Grace Baptist Church, 42 River Road, Pepperell, MA.
