Patricia Mae Powell

Patricia Mae Powell age 84 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. 

Patricia was born on March 26, 1940, to Virgil Lewis Powell and Margaret Mary Elizabeth McGrath Powell in Ayer, Massachusetts, and was baptized at St. James Catholic Church in West Groton, Massachusetts.

Patricia grew up in West Groton and graduated from Groton High School. She then attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School and was very proud of the education she received at that institution. Throughout her career, she was an executive secretary, most notably for MIT Lincoln Laboratories, J.J Henry Co. Inc., Tyco Toys, and Staples Headquarters.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Virginia A. P. Whitney of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, nieces Elizabeth Joyce Whitney of Biddeford, Maine, and Melissa Ann Whitney of New York, New York, and friend Cheryl Lowe of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

Patricia's personality was independent and feisty. She would "tell it like it is." She loved all things "witchy," dragons, and Star Trek.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Patricia for a graveside service on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am in Groton Cemetery, 242 Hollis Street, Groton, MA
