Patrick B. Phelan

Patrick Brian Phelan, 58, and a longtime Groton, MA resident passed away suddenly on January 13, 2022. He was the son of the late James and Dorothy (Horton) Phelan.

Pat was born in Tewksbury, MA on September 30, 1963. He grew up in Groton, MA and attended the local schools. He worked as a professional painter for more than 42 years, having learned the trade at a young age from his father, the late James Phelan. Pat enjoyed the outdoors whether it was visiting Maine, gardening, or walking his dog, Fefe. He was known to be able to build or fix anything, especially related to cars, and had a vast repertoire of home improvement skills. Pat was a fan of NASCAR and loved the New England Patriots. He will be remembered for his easy-going attitude, his can-do spirit, and a wonderful friend to many.

Patrick is survived by his girlfriend, Michelle Pero of Groton and her children, Shannon, Jimmy, and Jessica, his siblings Theresa Pérez of Winchendon, Timothy Phelan of Groton, and Dennis Phelan of Townsend, his nephews Rafael J. Pérez and Jason Pérez, his niece Melissa Pérez Capotosto, and his brother-in-law, Rafael A. Pérez.

He was the brother of the late James Joseph Phelan and Kevin Lawrence Phelan, and the uncle of the late Kristen Phelan Pérez and the cherished grandson of the late Marie Phelan of Groton.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Pat for a period of visitation in the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday January 22, 2022. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2:00pm. Interment is private.
