Paul B. Martel, 77 Boxborough, MA and formerly of Stow and Revere passed away unexpectedly at home on May 17th. He was born in Winthrop, the son of the late Berchman Martel and Louise (Leblanc) Martel.
Paul's childhood and early adulthood was spent in Revere. He attended and graduated from Boston College High School and then graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He married Carol Lothrop, and worked as an architect around the Boston area. He settled into Stow to advance his career and raise his family.
Paul was a well-known and respected architect and builder in central Massachusetts. He was an avid and accomplished golfer and was also a big fan of sports, both locally and professionally. He was always active in teaching and coaching of his children's youth teams. Later in life, Paul had a successful career in automotive sales. After retirement and until his unexpected passing, Paul spent his time taking care of his grandkids, golfing, and volunteering.
Paul will be forever missed and loved by his two son's Lee Martel of Manhattan Beach, CA and Jon Martel of Sterling, MA. His daughter in law Heather Martel of Sterling and his three grandchildren and best friends, Julia, Jack and Jenny Martel of Sterling. He is also survived by his five brothers David Martel and wife Jane of Revere, Charles and his wife Barbara of Melrose, Leonard Martel of Florida, John Martel and his wife Barbara of Scituate and James and his wife Sheila of Winthrop. Another brother, Richard Martel preceded him in death. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and a countless number of friends.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Paul on Wednesday, May 24th at 11:00 am at Hope Chapel, 35 Chocksett Rd, Sterling, MA
A small reception will follow at the church.
