Peter E. Gibbs

Peter Gibbs, Sr., 69, of Townsend (formerly of Pepperell), passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mr. Gibbs was born in Hudson, NH on December 21, 1940. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

Peter was formerly employed by New England Business Service in Townsend. He was a Patrolman on the Pepperell Police Force. Most recently, Peter worked as a limousine driver for First Choice Limousine in Lunenburg.

Son of the late Florence (Kent) Gibbs of Chateaugay, NY and the late Perry Gibbs of Sheldon, VT. Peter is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rose (Naples) Gibbs. He was the loving father of Peter Gibbs, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Nashua, NH, Stephen Gibbs and his wife Cheryl of Hill, NH and Rose (Gibbs) Geehan and her husband James of Townsend, MA. Brother to the late John Gibbs and his wife Bettie, the late Gladys (Gibbs) Lambert and her late husband Charles, Barbara (Gibbs) Blackwell and her husband Bob, Carol (Gibbs) Blais, Doris (Gibbs) Coderre and her late husband Raymond, the late Annie (Gibbs) LaBonville and her husband Peter and William Gibbs and his wife Mary. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

Funeral at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pepperell. Visiting Hours: Wednesday, June 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend.
