Phyllis Ruth Caldwell

Littleton Phyllis (Torrey) Caldwell, 86 of Littleton died peacefully at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley on December 13, 2015. She was born in Waltham, MA on May 17, 1929 daughter of the late Stephen and Marion (Mackenzie) Torrey. Phyllis was the wife of the late George W. Caldwell who died in 1986. She grew up in Acton, MA and was a graduate of the Acton school system. Phyllis worked several years at the Conant Building in Littleton working for a film company, JM Fields in Chelmsford, and as a Clerk at the Littleton Apothecary. She was married to George Caldwell in 1946 and has made her home in Littleton most of her life. Phyllis was a member and Life Deacon of the Littleton Baptist Church, a member of the Grange. She volunteered at Grotonwood, a summer Baptist Camp, in Groton for many years and loved knitting and crocheting. Her survivors include a daughter, Marion Purslow of Littleton, 3 sons; Douglas Caldwell & his wife Martha of Brunswick, MD, Stephen Caldwell & his wife Charlene of Southington, CT, Barry Caldwell & his wife Janet of Assonet, MA. 19 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Littleton Common, Littleton, MA on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.   There will be no visiting hours.
