Bourne ? Priscilla Jean (Backman) Gleason, 88, of Bourne died on June 6, 2015 in Littleton MA. after a valiant struggle.
Widow of the late Richard C. Gleason. Dedicated mother of Richard C. Gleason Jr. and wife Elaine Gleason of Littleton, the late Beth Gleason, David Gleason of Bourne, the late Robert Gleason, Sally Potts and husband Lawrence Potts of Charleston SC. Loving grandmother of Lawrence, Julia, Nancy and Ryan Potts and great grandmother of Ariana Padilla, and Brooklyn Frasier. Dear sister of the late Anne Hurley, Nancy Dixey, Sally Powers, and Judith Benedict. True life -long friend to many.
Jean was born in Jamaica Plain to the late Kenneth and Frances Backman. She was a graduate of Vassar College and Boston University and a teacher in the Westwood School System for 25 years. Her community service included volunteer work at the Aptucxet Trading Post, Heritage Plantation, United Methodist Church, Bourne Historical Society, Gray Gables Association and advocacy for the mentally ill.
