PEPPERELL - Ralph F. Crocker, age 81, a longtime resident of Pepperell, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the Life Care Center of Acton, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Dow) Crocker who survives him and resides in Pepperell.
Born in Concord, MA on August 6, 1929, he was a son of the late Lee K. and Edna Crocker. He was educated in the Concord School System and was a graduate of Concord High School Class of 1949. Mr. Crocker served for eight years in the U.S. Marine Corp. reserves as well as active duty during the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was employed as a Cryogenics Technician for Airco Industrial Gases in Acton for seventeen years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Pepperell. Mr. Crocker loved the Red Sox, bowling, Nascar, and scratch tickets.
Besides his wife of 43 years, he is survived by two sons, Lee K. Crocker and his wife Carolyn of Ashburnham, and Jeffrey T. Crocker of Pepperell, a daughter, Cynthia A. Crocker of Nashua, NH, a brother, George Crocker and his wife Marion of Maynard, two sisters, Mary E. Crocker of Concord, and Lucy Espie of Effingham Falls, NH, two sisters in-law, Helena "Mickie" Crocker of Westford and Carol Sherburne and her husband Fred of Hampton, NH, two grandchildren, Rebecca and Eric, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by four brothers, Ronald, Kenneth, Leonard and Clifford, and a sister, Ruth.
Visiting hours at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Parish, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell.
