Ramona M. Baker

Ramona M. (Dow) Baker, "Poochie", age 74, a lifelong Pepperell resident, died on September 15, 2009 at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Nashua, NH after a long illness.

Ramona was born on March 13, 1935 in her family home in Pepperell, MA., to the late Leonard and Florence (Denault) Dow of Pepperell, MA. Upon graduation from Pepperell High School in 1953 she worked at St. Regis Paper Co., as a bus driver for the Pepperell School Systems, picking apples for Kimball's Farm Stand and then for the Times Free Press/Nashoba Publications of Pepperell for 25 plus years as a dedicated employee, retiring in 2000. After retiring she worked part time for the Alpine Grove in Hollis, NH. Prior to her illness she could always be found walking around town to stay active, or in her garden tending to her beautiful flowers which she extremely enjoyed. She was a member of the Pepperell Garden Club for many years and also a member of the United Methodist Church of Pepperell, MA.

She is survived by her beloved children, Kim M. Baker of Groton, MA., Jeffrey T. & Joyce A. (Wilson) Baker of Pepperell, MA, H. Scott & Kelly L. (Stebbins) Baker of Townsend, MA, Lisa A. Baker-Sheehan and friend Mark Rodgers of Meredith, NH.. 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Baker, Jamie D. Baker both of Pepperell, MA., Ryan Ricchezza, LCPL Adam Stebbins, Chad R. Stebbins of Townsend, MA., Dylan J. Sheehan, Collin M. Sheehan of Meredith, NH.
She also leaves behind, 4 sisters, Virgina Timpani, Betty Chalmers, both of Pepperell, MA., Nancy and AL Calvagno of Jensen Beach, FL., Pricilla and Paul Markham of Groton, MA. and Atlantis, FL., a brother, Robert and Sue (Holt) Dow of Pepperell, MA. Also a lifelong friend, Joan Briggs of Lunenburg, MA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and long time friends. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Richard Dow and Leonard Dow Sr.

Visiting hours at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1 Chapel Hill, Pepperell. Burial at Woodland Cemetery, Pepperell.
