Raymond J. Maeder (90) of Ayer, died peacefully on December 28, 2014 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born in Holliston on March 29, 1924 son of the late Raymond A. and Winifred (Sheridan) Maeder. He grew up in Holliston and was the President of his 1942 Holliston High School class. He attended Boston College prior to entering the U.S. Army during WWII. Ray worked as a home delivery milk man for most of his career with White Brothers and Whiting Milk companies. He made his home(s) in Holliston, Braintree, Marshfield, Bourne and most recently (14 years) in Littleton & Ayer.
Ray was a long time Lions Club International and American Legion member. For several years he delivered "Meals-On-Wheels" in Littleton. He enjoyed walking, word games and following the Boston College Eagles and New England Patriots. His dry and whimsical sense of humor was always entertaining and appreciated.
Mr. Maeder is survived by his children: Mark and Marie Maeder of Germantown, MD. Elizabeth and Temple Corson of Treasure Island, FL. Winifred and Brian Geary of Northwood, NH. Marylou Maeder of Brookfield, VT. Robert and Tina Maeder of Groton, MA. John and Kerri Maeder of McKinney, TX. Thomas and Kathy Maeder of Westminster, MA, and Jenn and Elyse Maeder-Wolland of Pacifica CA. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Ray was the brother of the late Betty Maeder, Paul Maeder and Don Maeder.
