Described by many as a kind, warm gentleman, Richard “Dick” Huebner, 77 of Westford, Massachusetts peacefully went home on October 18, 2024 after a battle with cancer. Born in Lawrence, Dick grew up in Methuen as the younger son of the late Alvin and Sarah Huebner
After graduating from Tenney High School in 1964 and Wentworth in 1967, Dick began his career at Digital Equipment Corporation where he worked in Manufacturing Engineering for 30 years. In later years he could be found managing the Mini Golf and Bumper Boat operation at Kimball Farm.
A long time member of First Baptist Church Littleton Dick long served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Collector and Choir Member. Called to serve he participated in numerous mission opportunities and trips. Dick was a Life Deacon of the Church.
Along with many extended family and friends Dick volunteered for twenty years with the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) at the Family/Monument Finish in Provincetown, welcoming thousands of riders and raising much needed monies to fund cancer research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Introduced to golf by his father, Dick has had a lifelong passion he happily shared with subsequent generations. For close to fifty years summer Tuesday afternoons were spent playing with his much loved TLI Golf League in Salem, NH.
Dick shared his life with wife Carol for 40 years. He was so proud of his children Rich (Carla) of Hull, Joy (Jon) Bress of Waltham, Alex (Maggie) of Holden and beloved grand children Maya and Levi Bress and Calvin and Rory Huebner.
He is also survived by his sister in law Charlotte Huebner wife of his late brother Alvin, and their children Stephen (Melissa), Susan, David and Mark (Tricia)
