Richard D. Judah was born in McCook, Nebraska on December 14, 1943, to Katherine L. Judah and Thomas C. Judah. He was raised in Billings, Montana and attended Billings West High School where he became known as a proficient bass player, even being asked to play with the Billings Symphony Orchestra while in high school.
He later graduated from Sacramento State University. Following this achievement, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War on the island of Shemya, Alaska, a six-square island 200 miles from Russia. Subsequently, he was stationed at Fort Devens in Ayer, MA where he was honorably discharged. He then earned a Masters degree from Assumption University in Worcester MA. He went on to attend Pennsylvania State University where he earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
Richard worked for 40 years as a clinical and educational psychologist, both practicing and teaching psychology. He published numerous collaborative journal articles and book chapters. In addition, he was an accomplished jazz bass player throughout his life, playing in many venues and events throughout the state. Music was a source of great joy in his life and his many contributions will be missed.
Richard is survived by his grandson Deagan Magdalensky, and a sister Suzanne Boboweic of Lolo, Montana. He is pre-deceased by his parents, older brother, and his daughter Jessica.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Richard's life on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1:00PM - 4:00PM at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at at 11:00AM at the New Life Community Church, 221 Baker Ave, Concord MA. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon MA.
