Richard S. Larsen

Richard S. Larsen, Sr.78, also known as "The King" of Shirley, died at Apple Valley Center in Ayer on October 13, 2013. He was born in Carlisle on April 3, 1935 Son of the late Charles and Mabel (Philbrick) Larsen. He grew up in Carlisle and Billerica. He worked as a truck driver most of his life, Dick was married in 1965 to Dorothy (Velmure) Larsen and they lived in Littleton, Groton and Shirley. She died in 2011.

Dick is survived by his daughter Laura Larsen of Ayer, stepchildren Robert and Jane Dumas of Ayer, George and Cathy Dumas of Ayer, Leanne Saunders and her late husband Don Saunders of Townsend and Denise and Mark Whitney of Shirley, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Richard Larsen Jr., Ricky Larsen and Debby Hill and the brother of the late Charles Larsen, stepfather to Desiree Holland.

A Graveside Service will be held at Village Cemetery in Shirley on Thursday October 17, 2013 at 2 pm.
