In Loving Memory of Richard Alan Reid

Richard Alan Reid, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, will be remembered for the love, laughter, and countless memories he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Richard was born in Groton, MA, on July 13, 1954, to Laurence and Elsie Reid. He passed on August 28,2026 in Milford, DE. He was the devoted husband of Robert Spicer and a loving father to Samantha, Timothy, and James. His greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren: Jessica, 23; Dominic, 23; Daylyn, 13; Michael, 11; Skye, 7; and Brooke, 4. He cherished each of them in his own special way and loved watching them grow.

Rick is also survived by his Brother William, sisters Janet and Peg

Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force and later dedicated himself to serving others as a firefighter. His willingness to help others and his sense of duty reflected the kind of man he was—strong, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand.

In his later years Rick loved driving a school bus and having a great time with his “extra kids”.

But those who knew Richard best will remember that he never took life too seriously. He loved to joke around, make people laugh, and keep everyone on their toes. To his nieces and nephews, he was affectionately known as “Uncle Sucker”—a title he undoubtedly earned through years of teasing, joking, and being just mischievous enough to keep everyone laughing.

Richard had a way of making ordinary moments memorable. His jokes, his laughter, his stories, and his unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Richard’s absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. But his love, his laughter, his service, and the memories he created will live on in all those who loved him.

Rest peacefully, Richard. Your watch is over. You will be loved, remembered, and missed always.
